"order variety cannot be modified"

I am seeing this as status_message in some of my orders. anyone else seen it? spoke to support, they said they will check and get back. can't find it in documentation anywhere.

The error occurred because the variety field cannot be modified once an order is placed. Please refer to the API documentation for more details.

did you guys actually look at the log at your end or just trying to guess my api calls from error message ?

i wasn't trying to modify the order variety at all. just updating trigger price because market moved away and i am trying to chase it.
